How I Started Space Pet Studio: A Love for Pets, Design, and Everyday Joy
Share
As a dog and cat sitter in San Francisco, I’ve been lucky to spend time with many furry friends — each with their own personality, quirks, and needs. Over time, I found myself not only bonding with the pets I cared for, but also thinking about how to make their daily lives better, and more fun — from mealtime to bedtime.
With a love for design and aesthetics, I began dreaming of creating products that were not only functional but also beautiful. I wanted to make items that felt modern, thoughtful, and joyful — something both pets and their humans would enjoy.
I noticed that senior dogs often struggled with regular bowls — so I created elevated bowls to support their posture and digestion. Some dogs also ate too fast, so I added slow-feeder options to help them pace their meals. These little changes can make a big difference in a pet’s comfort and health.
As a sitter, I also saw a practical need: many pet owners bring beds or blankets when they drop off their pets for boarding. But most everyday bags weren’t big enough to carry them easily. That’s what inspired me to design our oversized shopping bag — roomy enough to fit a pet bed or a cozy blanket, but stylish enough for daily use.
The name Space Pet Studio comes from my love of both outer space and the spaces we share with our pets. To me, space has two meanings — the cosmos above and the living spaces we shape with care and creativity. Elements of outer space are woven into modern interior design to bring playful, functional, and stylish products into our homes.
This is just the beginning. I’m excited to keep creating products that make life easier, cozier, and more fun — for pets and their humans alike.
